1st Year
Your first year is mainly clinical responsibilities with one-month provided to initiate a research project. Clinical responsibilities include a balance of inpatient service and outpatient-based care in endocrinology, diabetes and dynamic endocrine testing in clinics.
2nd & 3rd Years
The second and third years are mainly research responsibilities with some clinical responsibilities.
Research
Research can be clinical, translational, or basic science based in the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology, at another Emory University Department or at an outside institution.
Clinical Responsibilities
Clinical responsibilities include inpatient service at Arthur M. Blank Hospital, outpatient continuity clinics in endocrinology and diabetes at the Center for Advanced Pediatrics, and satellite outreach clinics across metro Atlanta. Fellows also participate in monthly outreach clinics with a dedicated clinical mentor, gaining valuable experience in routine endocrine care outside a tertiary center—highly valued as preparation for private practice.
Subspecialty Clinics
At all levels, fellows benefit from exposure to subspecialty clinics, which offer unique patient populations and advanced training in specialized management.
