Fellows will be required to actively participate in resident education both in clinic and the operating room. There are two residents on the foot and ankle service at any time and the fellow with work with these residents in all aspects of patient care. There will be two weekly conferences that are designed to engage the residents, fellow, and faculty. An indications conference will occur weekly where residents and fellows will present select cases for the week for discussion. There will also be a weekly conference that will alternate between OITE/board review and F&A topic reviews. There will be a journal club that occurs once per rotation. Residents and fellows will present articles for discussion and dinner/drinks will be provided. There will be four cadaver labs annually – each designed to provide opportunity to practice surgical techniques and to develop a better understanding of local anatomy. The topics and instrumentation for each lab will vary and can be tailored to the interests of the fellow and residents.
