3 Tiers of the Emory Ortho Trauma at Grady Memorial Fellowship
Clinical:
The breadth of Ortho Trauma cases at Grady Hospital will provide ample opportunity to learn how to care for multiply injured patients, high energy peri-articular injuries, pelvic/acetabular trauma, and limb reconstruction/salvage.
Education:
Emory University and Grady Memorial Hospital’s long-standing dedication to trainee education makes this Ortho Trauma fellowship an ideal learning environment for fellows, and allows the fellow to teach residents and medical students.
Investigation:
The orthopaedic trauma division has multiple clinical research staff on-site, and an affiliation with a biomechanics research laboratory, multiple basic science labs, Emory/Rollin’s School of Public Health and Georgia Institute of Technology School of Bioengineering for fellow engagement as interest dictates.

Fellowship Rotation
There will be alternating 3 month rotations on "A" service and "B" service for each fellow. The "A" or "B" designation determines which clinic the fellow will be in, but the fellow will be allowed to choose which OR provides the most educational benefit on any given day. The fellow will assign his/herself to 1. the trauma room: cases from overnight consults 2. one of the elective trauma rooms 3. the hand trauma room 4. the arthroplasty room on M/Th/F or 5. the sports room W or F. The core fellowship faculty will aid in assigning which OR to be in initially to promote the best educational environment for the fellows.
