3 Tiers of the Emory Hand & Upper Extremity Center
- Center of excellence for the treatment of hand, elbow, and shoulder problems in patients from all over the southeastern United States
- More than 10,000 patients treated and 4,000 surgeries performed annually
- Serves as a tertiary referral center for complex upper extremity pathologies and failed prior surgeries
- Consistently recognized as the top educators within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Emory
- Our faculty are devoted to constantly improving upper extremity education for fellows, residents, and medical students
- Multiple faculty members speak every year and are leaders at national and international meetings, including the ASSH, AAOS, AAHS/ASPN, and ASES.
- The upper extremity division at Emory publishes more than 50 peer-reviewed publications annually on various topics in upper extremity surgery.
- The faculty are involved in multiple active clinical trials spanning the entire upper extremity, aimed at answering the toughest questions our field faces.

Fellowship Rotation
Fellows will alternate through the following rotations on month-long blocks:
- Program director (two-month rotation): Emory Upper Extremity Center
- Peripheral nerve and microsurgical reconstruction (two-month rotation): Emory Upper Extremity Center
- Shoulder, elbow, and wrist reconstruction (two-month rotation): Emory Upper Extremity Center
- Trauma (two-month rotation): Grady Trauma Center
- Private practice (two-month rotation): Georgia Shoulder, Elbow, and Hand Center
- Congenital hand and brachial plexus (one-month rotation): CHOA and Shepherd Center
- International rotation (one-month rotation)
