Jordan Kempker MD, MSc
Overview
Dr. Jordan A. Kempker is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Emory University in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies in 2003, followed by his Doctor of Medicine in 2007; both from the University of Florida. He then completed his Internship and Residency at Emory University and then served as served for one year as a Chief Resident at Grady Memorial Hospital. To develop his professional capacity as a Clinical-Translational scientist, Dr. Kempker then completed a Masters in Science and Clinical Research through the Georgia Clinical & Translational Science Alliance at the Emory Laney Graduate School. He then completed his Fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Emory University before transitioning to a faculty position in 2015. Dr. Kempker has conducted research exploring the roles of vitamin D deficiency in the risk for serious infections, sepsis epidemiology, and the epidemiology of respiratory failure.

Critical Care Epidemiology
My research is at the intersections of critical care medicine, epidemiology, health services research, and data science. I use big data techniques to perform secondary analyses to answer health services questions in the disease processes of sepsis and acute respiratory distress syndrome.
