Overview
Abesh Niroula is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Associate program Director of ACGME accredited Interventional Pulmonary fellowship Program in Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. He completed his medical school education from foothills of Mount Everest in Nepal in 2009. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Abington Jefferson Health where he also was appointed as a Chief Resident. This was followed by Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. He then completed an additional one year of Interventional Pulmonology fellowship at Emory University in 2020. Since then, he has joined as a faculty at Emory University School Of Medicine. In his early years as a practicing Interventional Pulmonologist, he has expanded IP services in EUHM Midtown location including addition of multiple programs including Robotic Bronchoscopy program with advance imaging ( Cone Beam CT) in new Winship Tower endo suite, customized 3D stenting program and Bronchoscopic Lung volume reduction Program to IP service line at Emory University Hospital Midtown. He is actively involved in the monthly Complex airway disease conference, weekly Thoracic oncology tumor board and Interstitial lung Disease multidisciplinary conference. He also provides clinical services to critical care unit in Emory University hospital Midtown. He also serves as a Medical director of Pulmonary Function Testing lab at EUHM. His primary areas of interest lie within thoracic oncology, pleural disease and airway disease. He has a keen interest in studying procedural outcomes and establishing a centralized lung nodule program. In addition, he is active in national and international societies including ATS, CHEST and AABIP to support education. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Niroula finds joy in walking for leisure and spend time with family.
