Program Experience:
As a fellow of the Emory Nigeria research Training Programme, I was availed the opportunity to undergo a 3-months research training in the LUTH/Chevron Molecular Laboratory where I had additional exposures to different molecular biology techniques that further enhanced my knowledge and equipped me with the hands-on skill for a research project on HIV associated cancers I am currently doing. I was also able to overcome the challenges of grant applications also because of exposures to different courses related to grant writing, journal clubbing and critiques as well as lessons on improving Writing & Presentation Skills for grant winning proposals. It was a memorable experience learning and working with my In-country and Foreign mentors. I now find myself transiting into a better mentor and improving on my relationships with my mentees too taking a cue from them. I also attended quite a number of online conferences and courses over this period. Overall, the Emory-NRT programme has impacted on my career path.
