Hannah Nicol, our Director of Training, is an applied linguist & English language educator specialized in advancing global health scholarship. Over the past 12 years, Hannah has taught in higher education contexts across four continents and developed an interest in multilingual medical research. She leads academic training initiatives to build capacity across research training programs worldwide, including Emory partnerships in Nigeria, Ethiopia, Vietnam, and the country of Georgia. Training content includes academic writing, English language and grammar, professional communication, intercultural communication, scientific research communication, public speaking and presentation development. Hannah’s focus – in both her PhD research and teaching – is amplifying multilingual voices in the global health research conversation.
