Scholarly Writing and Publishing Fund
The Emory Center for Faculty Development and Excellence offers the Scholarly Writing and Publishing (SWAP) fund, a grant program designed to help faculty seeking professional editorial support for projects in development across a range of serious scholarly works, including book manuscripts, article manuscripts, grant writing, and digital scholarship.
A limited number of grants from this fund for up to $3000 are available. These grants are intended to support Emory faculty members facing the often-difficult challenges of scholarly writing at any stage of their careers and to provide funds for hiring editorial support or a writing coach.

Pilot funding through the Pilot Grants Program
- In partnership with the Healthcare Innovation Program - due annually in May
Training - Research Education, Training, and Career Development
- Offers limited funding to accepted members of its programs
KL2 Clinical Research Career Development Program
- Annual due in spring of each year
Regenerative Engineering and Medicine (Emory and Georgia Tech) Innovative Research Grants
Innovative Research Grants - intended to fund projects at earlier stages of development
Strategic Priority Grants - intended for developed projects that are supported by preliminary data
Emory School of Medicine
Large Program Project Support - for Program Directors who are committed to the submission of a large program grant application within 12 months following the Preparation Award
Request for Institutional Matching Funds - for large interdisciplinary grants
Bridge funding and Catalyst and Seed Funding programs are also available. Department of Medicine investigators must apply through the internal mechanism.
Research Administration Service
The Department of Medicine Research Administration Service (RAS) team is focused on leveraging its combined knowledge and experience to support the Department of Medicine and Department of Family & Preventive Medicine investigators. The RAS provides faculty with pre- and post-award research administration services. We believe that every investigator’s research is paramount. The RAS staff is dedicated to providing a high level of customer service to support faculty in the management of their research portfolio so faculty can focus on finding answers.
