Welcome to the Emory Department of Family and Preventive Medicine! I'm honored to serve as Interim Chair of a department uniquely qualified to provide comprehensive, team-based primary care, palliative care, and student health services, along with interdisciplinary health professions education and community-based research in metro Atlanta and Middle Georgia. Our Physician Assistant program is ranked #8 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report and has been ranked in the top 10 since U.S. News first began ranking PA programs.

Our family medicine program rose from unranked to #18 in the nation in the 2022 U.S. News & World Report rankings.

The Emory Warner Robins Family Medicine Residency joined Emory University School of Medicine, extending our training partnership into Middle Georgia.

Our research portfolio went from unranked in 2019 to top 25 nationally in 2024 based on federal grant funding and continues to make progress.

Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) support for tuition stipends and trainee salaries allowed our Preventive Medicine Residency Program to expand to a high of 7 trainees.

Our Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship matched 8 trainees for 2026–2027.
