Meet our Division Director, Dr. Thompson
Dr. Tina-Ann Thompson is currently the Program Lead for Emory Primary Care (over 50 practice locations and 120 providers) working directly with practices as a medical director and leading the group of the three medical directors.
Dr. Thompson has a long and distinguished career as a leader. She was initially hired for her clinical role as a primary care physician at Rockbridge Family Medicine in 2004. In 2015, she and her private practice group joined the DeKalb Medical Physicians Group. By 2016, she was the Chief Medical Officer – Primary Care.
Dr. Thompson serves on 10 Emory institutional committees and is a member of the Emory Healthcare Board. She teaches third-year medical students for the Emory School of Medicine. She is a research Co-Investigator for the All of Us Study.

Our residency program provides professional training, innovative flexibility, cultural diversity, and unique scholarship opportunities in an atmosphere of collegiality and intellectual collaboration. Emory's Family Medicine Residency Program was ranked #18 in the country by U.S. News and World Report in 2022.
Emory at Dunwoody - Family Medicine
Our Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model aims to enhance the delivery of comprehensive primary care to children, adolescents, and adults. We’ve even received a Level 3 accreditation (the highest) from the NCQA, a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality.
Research
The Department of Family and Preventive Medicine conducts research in the areas of public health/population-based health, diabetes mellitus control, preventive medicine, health care delivery models, medical/health education innovations for adult learners, and integration of clinical health risk assessment screening tools.
Community Involvement
The Emory Department of Family and Preventive Medicine provides community engagement opportunities for our faculty, staff, residents, and students through partnerships with local organizations.
