I chose Emory Family Medicine because of the great experience I had during the interview dinner and interview day. The faculty were extremely welcoming and clearly had goals for the residents that aligned with mine, and the residents I met shared experiences that made the program very appealing. I also love the city of Atlanta, and its proximity to my home in Florida and having multiple friends from college who lived here contributed further to my choice of this program. I chose Family Medicine after my great experience during my Family Medicine rotation during the third year of medical school. I was placed in a rural clinic with a physician who had also completed a Sports Medicine fellowship, and I loved going to work every day with him. I learned a lot, both about medicine, and how rewarding it could be to build relationships with patients over the course of a career in Family Medicine and was inspired to be able to do the same.
