Dr. Kaslow has been providing debriefings for health care teams at Grady Health System since the night of the Olympic Park bombing in 1996. Since then, she has been regularly called upon to offer support to teams across the hospital during times of distress and crisis. Her extensive experience in these settings led to her being presented with The Nadine J. Kaslow Award for Excellence in Mental Health Advocacy (2025) at Grady’s Nurse of the Year Awards Ceremony and helped shape her national reputation in the areas of wellbeing, resilience, and flourishing for health care professionals. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she led the creation and implementation of Caring Communities, a large-scale initiative that provided support resources and wellbeing activities to frontline health care workers. This initiative became a national, and later international model, for institutional support. In Fall 2023, Dr. Kaslow was invited to serve as the inaugural Director of Wellbeing, Resilience, and Flourishing for Emory at Grady, where she continues to lead efforts to foster a compassionate, supportive, and sustainable health care environment.
