Welcome
The Emory Flourishing at Grady Program is committed to fostering wellness, wellbeing, resilience, and a strong sense of community among faculty, staff, APPs, and learners. Built on the principles of compassion, inclusivity, cultural responsiveness, and access to resources, the program aims to provide meaningful support to those navigating the challenges of working in a high-intensity health care environment. Through wellness initiatives, peer support and debriefing programs, and team and community-building efforts, we aim to create a culture prioritizing wellbeing, resilience, and flourishing.
About
In 2023, Emory at Grady hired their inaugural director of wellbeing, resilience, and flourishing and in 2024, the first assistant director was onboarded. In collaboration with an advisory group, the Emory Flourishing at Grady Program was created to address the unique stressors of patient care, education, research, and advocacy amongst Emory personnel working within the Grady Health System. Our work focuses on mitigating burnout, moral distress, and secondary trauma while strengthening resilience, connections, and collective wellbeing. We collaborate across departments and offices to develop sustainable strategies and resources that support individuals, teams, and the organization as a whole. By fostering a culture of wellness, reflection, and mutual support, we strive to enhance resilience and create an environment where all healthcare professionals feel valued, supported, and empowered in their roles.
