Pharmacology and Chemical Biology Grant Highlights
Dr. Xiulei Mo Received NCI R37 Award
Xiulei Mo, PhD, Assistant Professor in Pharmacology and Chemical Biology, received a National Cancer Institute Method to Extend Research in Time (MERIT) Award to discover novel chemical probes for targeted therapy in colorectal cancer. Co-investigators on the six-year grant include Yuhong Du, PhD, Andrey Ivanov, PhD, Jae Chang, PhD, and Haian Fu, PhD.
Dr. Renee Read Received R21 Grant for Pediatric Glioblastoma Study
Renee Read, PhD, Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology, received an R21 grant from the National Institutes of Neurological Disorders and Stroke for her project, “MET kinase fusions in pediatric glioblastoma.” Having previously identified fusion mutations in the MET and ALK receptor tyrosine kinases associated with pediatric high-grade gliomas, the research team will evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of tyrosine kinase inhibitors to target these mutations.
Dr. Hongjie Yuan Received GRIN2B Grant
Hongjie Yuan, PhD, Assistant Professor of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology, was recently awarded a grant, "Functional Evaluation and Therapeutic Strategies for an Animal Model Harboring a Disease-Associated Gain of Function Variant" from the GRIN2B Foundation.
