Cell Biology Grant Highlights



New Multi-PI Award

Three faculty from the department of Cell Biology received a grant from the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation. Dr. Marie-Claude Perreault, Associate professor, Dr. Shawn Hochman, Professor, and Dr. Francisco Alvarez, Professor, received a 3-year senior grant entitled, “Plasticity of the spinal interneuronal connectome controlling cutaneous vasculature after SCI."

New Funding for Dr. Timothy Sampson

Timothy Sampson, PhD, Assistant Professor in Cell Biology, is the recipient of two recent awards:

  1. Dr. Sampson received his first R01 grant entitled, "Interaction of Pyrethroid Exposure and the Microbiome on Parkinson's Disease related Pathologies."

  2. Dr. Samspon is also part of a collaborative multi-institutional grant from the Aligning Science Across Parkinson's Collaborative Research Network (in association with the Michael J. Fox Foundation).

Dr. Ryan Purcell Received New Young Investigator Award

Ryan Purcell, PhD, Instructor in the Bassell Lab, received a 2-year New Investigator Award, "Cross-comparison of schizophrenia risk copy number variants," from the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation.
