First Year
During the first year, the focus is largely on inpatient and C/L psychiatry, with some additional outpatient experiences. Rotations are generally in one-two month blocks. First year fellows start taking every fourth week call in August. Below is a brief description of rotations.
- C/L and Emergency Psychiatry at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (4.5 months)
- 3 months of C/L Psychiatry at Arthur M. Blank Hospital
- 1 month of C/L Psychiatry at Scottish Rite Hospital
- 1/2 month of Emergency Psychiatry at CHOA
- Inpatient, Partial Hospitalization, and Residential Treatment for Youth (5 months)
- Hillside: residential and day treatment programming
- Ridgeview: adolescent inpatient and partial hospitalization experience at a private hospital
- Skyland Trail: residential and day treatment programming
- Tanner: inpatient and partial hospitalization experience
- The Emily Program: eating disorder inpatient and residential programs
- Outpatient Experiences (2.5 months)
- Autism: outpatient experiences with children, adolescents and young adults with ASD at the Emory Autism Center and the Marcus Autism Center
- Emory Neurodevelopment and Exposure Clinic: assessment and management of neurobehavioral disorders in children with in-utero exposure to alcohol or other substances
- Emory Outpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic (therapy +/- medication management longitudinal clinic)
- Neurology: pediatric outpatient neurology clinic including epilepsy, headache, neurodevelopmental disorders, Non-Epileptiform Events and sleep disorders
Second Year
The second year consists of longitudinal outpatient experiences. Below is a brief description of some of our rotation sites.
- Emory Outpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic: assessment and ongoing care including therapy (various modalities) and medication management
- Emory Addiction Center: outpatient assessment and treatment of adolescents and young adults with substance use disorders
- Emory Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Clinic: outpatient clinic assessing and treating families with children ages 0-5
- Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Outpatient Behavioral and Mental Health
- CHRIS 180: community mental health
- Clinical High Risk and Early Psychosis Program for transitional age youth and young adults (including Project Arrow at Grady and Youth and Family TREE)
- Emory Autism Center: outpatient clinic for children, adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders and developmental disabilities
- Marcus Autism Center: outpatient clinic for children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Scholarly time
- Additional elective time
