Clinical training (required over two years)

  • Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Egleston, 24 weeks
  • Private Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Scottish Rite, 4 weeks
  • Community Hospital Medicine at Hughes Spalding, 4 weeks

 

Individualized Curriculum

This fellowship provides 16 weeks of elective time per year.  It is meant to be flexible and allow the fellow to pursue his or her interests or address areas where he or she would like to gain extra knowledge, skills or experience.  Available electives include:

  • Child Protection
  • Critical Care
  • Microbiology
  • Newborn Nursery
  • Nutrition, Lactation and Speech
  • Pain Medicine
  • Palliative Care
  • Pathology
  • Radiology
  • Rehabilitative Medicine
  • Sedation
  • Transfusion Medicine
  • Transport

 

Scholarly Activity

A minimum of 16 weeks per academic year is dedicated to development of expertise in research skills and quality improvement methodology and completion of scholarly projects.  With supervision from project mentors and the Scholarship Oversight Committee, fellows will lead and complete two projects:

  1. Scholarly Project in a domain of choice (clinical research, medical education, global health, etc).
  2. Quality Improvement Project
