Psychological services for patients and their families are critical to helping children learn to cope with battling a disease. Our team provides:
Clinical care:
Intervention: Inpatient and outpatient treatment plans are provided for children and families coping with the demands of their medical condition.
Neuropsychological assessment and subsequent academic support are available.
- Multidisciplinary collaboration–Psychologists are engaged in multidisciplinary care across primary hematology/oncology and subspecialty teams.
- Clinical and research training–We are nationally competitive in the recruitment of top postdoctoral fellows and other trainees pursuing careers as pediatric psychologists.
- Innovative clinical research–Multiple NIH-funded principal investigators are engaged in translational research designed to improve patient outcomes in the context of chronic illness.
