AI tools based on large language models (LLM) – such as ChatGPT and Bard – have the potential to upend the practice of medicine. Faculty play an important role in the appropriate application and stewardship of these technologies. This includes taking advantage of these novel tools to streamline the development of educational content and educating learners on best practices and pitfalls. In this session, participants will be equipped with a toolkit for using AI tools in their educational activities and will work in small groups to practice using these tools in a variety of teaching settings.
This session will highlight some ways that Emory faculty are utilizing AI for research. Participants will engage in an interactive case study with discussion on how to frame questions and parameters to have AI help solve physiological or clinical problems. The session will further explore the translation of AI research into practical implementation, bridging the gap between research and operations for enhanced applicability.
