Gabriela Cohen
Overview
Dr. Gabriela Cohen is an Assistant Professor and Division Director in the Emory University Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatrics and Gerontology, promoted to Associate Professor effective September 2024 . She graduated from the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine with honors. Dr. Cohen completed 2 Residency Programs in Internal Medicine, the first one in The Italian Hospital from Buenos Aires and the second one at New York University School of medicine where she also served as Chief Resident. She then completed her geriatrics fellowship at Suny -Downstate School of Medicine and she is board-certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine. Dr. Cohen worked in an academic Memory Center at FLENI in Buenos Aires and she became a memory expert in that field. She currently serves as Attending Physician at Grady Memorial Health at the Geriatrics Clinic and she is a provider of Georgia Memory Net, a state -funded program to improve early diagnosis of Alzheimers Disease and related Dementia based at Grady Memorial Hospital.
She has a leadership role as Resident Coordinator of the Internal medicine Residency rotation in Geriatrics Medicine at Emory University. As a clinician-investigator, her research focuses on Alzheimers diagnosis, Alzheimers Disease biomarkers, and management of Alzheimers Disease from a geriatric perspective.
Dr. Cohen teaches students, residents, and fellows through various programs at the Emory University School of Medicine.
