All of Us Research Program

The mission of the All of Us Research Program is simple. We want to speed up health research and medical breakthroughs. To do this, we’re asking one million people to lead the way to provide the types of information that can help us create individualized prevention, treatment, and care for all of us.

The All of Us Research Program aims to build a participant community that reflects the rich diversity of the U.S. and to integrate a broad set of data types. By doing so, researchers will gain a greater understanding of the individual differences that affect health.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the federal agency charged with leading the National All of Us Research Program, part of the Precision Medicine Initiative, which is an emerging approach for disease treatment and prevention that considers the variability in lifestyle, environment, and biological makeup. This represents a radical shift in health care.
