About Me
I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I studied psychology and medical humanities at the University of Oklahoma, stayed on for medical school there, and then did my emergency medicine residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
Hobbies
- I love any creative activity! I grew up doing a lot of art contests and gradually moved into doing commissions, but mostly just do art for fun now. My favorite medium is watercolor, but recently I've gotten into oil painting
- I also love graphic design and interior design. Although, currently, this is limited to me just flipping through Architectural Digest
Why Emory EM Med Tox?
Emory offers so many unique opportunities, and it feels like the career possibilities afterwards are limitless! We get exposure to a lot of different aspects of toxicology, all the while working in one of the busiest hospital systems in the country. Addiction medicine, public health/CDC involvement, large Poison Center, diverse faculty, unmatched research opportunities...the list goes on and on. Those are just a few of the amazing things this program has to offer.
Five-year Plan
I think my 5-year plan would involve clinical/bedside toxicology as well as public health endeavors using art, such as a children's toxicology book or accessible, easily understandable visual educational materials. But, I'm excited to see how my interests develop and change throughout fellowship.
