Career Opportunities
Postdoc Position 1: Postdoctoral Fellow Position in Cellular Metabolism/ Chemical Biology/ Protein Engineering
The laboratory of Dr. Anupam Patgiri in the Department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology at Emory School of Medicine is seeking a motivated postdoctoral fellow to work in the areas of metabolism, protein engineering, and chemical biology. Dr. Anupam Patgiri is an incoming assistant professor who is starting their lab in September of 2021. The postdoctoral fellow will investigate therapeutic strategies for various metabolic dysfunctions, including inborn errors of metabolism. The fellow will have direct access to the lab’s own QTOF LCMS. Candidates could be PhD in any area of biomedicine with training in protein biochemistry and mammalian cell culture. Experience in mass spectrometry-based metabolomics and molecular biology (e.g. cloning, CRISPR etc.) is strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in biochemistry, chemical, cell, or molecular biology.
- Expertise in protein biochemistry, mammalian cell culture experiments, and molecular biology.
- Experience in mass spectrometry-based metabolomics is strongly preferred
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
Interested candidates should email Dr. Anupam Patgiri at anupam.patgiri@emory.edu with their CV, a cover letter describing previous research and interest in our lab, and the contact information of three referees. We are looking to fill this position in the Fall of 2021.

Position 3: Research Technician/Lab Manager – Cellular Metabolism/ Chemical biology
The laboratory of Dr. Anupam Patgiri in the Department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology at Emory School of Medicine is seeking a motivated research technician/lab manager to work in the areas of cellular metabolism and chemical biology. Dr. Anupam Patgiri is an incoming assistant professor who is starting their lab in September of 2021.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Chemical Sciences with experience in:
- Protein chemistry (purification, characterization, quantitative analysis, etc)
- Mammalian cell culture
- Molecular Biology (cloning, CRISPR KO, etc) will be a plus
- Experience in LCMS-based metabolomics will be a plus
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
Responsibilities:
- Assist in building lab infrastructure
- Basic lab management, including ordering and maintaining equipment, reagents, and supplies
- Perform basic experiments and data analysis to support ongoing projects in the lab
Interested candidates should email Dr. Anupam Patgiri at anupam.patgiri@emory.edu with their CV, a cover letter describing previous research and interest in our lab, and the contact information of three referees. We are looking for at least a 2-year time commitment. This might be an ideal position if you are looking to gain hands-on research experience to prepare for graduate/medical school.
