What is your favorite thing about living in Atlanta?
Living and training in Atlanta is a great experience. The city is diverse, full of opportunities in medicine, and tons of great places to eat! My favorite spot in the city is the Beltline.

Tell us about yourself:
I was born and raised in the Detroit area, so I am a southern transplant! I was in the marching band at Michigan (go blue!) before medical school at Emory, then completed residency in Cincinnati. I live in Atlanta with my partner, Tyler, who is a research professor at Emory, and our dog, Ollie. In our spare time we like to explore Atlanta with Ollie, go to breweries, and make homemade pizza!
Why did you choose Emory PEM?
I went to Emory for medical school and absolutely loved it, so when a job opportunity popped up for my partner, it was a no-brainer that I would be headed back to Atlanta (and was very lucky to match here for fellowship!) The training in Atlanta gives you the best of both worlds - you get all that comes with being in an urban setting (trauma, high volumes, safety net general pediatrics complaints), but since we're the largest/most comprehensive children's hospital for several hours, we also get all of the rare stuff, too - including rural trauma. Our faculty are also incredibly supportive, and I truly look forward to going to work every day.
What is your favorite thing about living in Atlanta?
There is something for everyone here. All the perks of a big city (major sports teams, festivals, concerts, huge airport to get you anywhere you need to go), but the city is spaced out enough that you can find community where you live. Our little area of town feels completely separate from the city and has its own little festivals and gatherings. Atlanta is also very green - I've never lived in a city with so many trees! Given the climate we get to spend a lot of time outside.

I grew up in Florida and did residency in western Massachusetts with my wife who is also a pediatrician. I like to cook and try to get my 2-year-old to eat new foods with varying success.
Why did you choose Emory PEM?
I worked here as an attending before fellowship and the families are great, the volumes and acuity are high, and I really liked everyone I worked with.
What is your favorite thing about living in Atlanta?
The Georgia aquarium and the endless number of great places to eat.

I am originally from Miami, Florida. I did my undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering at Georgia Tech then medical school at USF in Tampa, FL. I completed pediatric residency at UConn in Connecticut then worked as a PICU hospitalist for a year at Boston Children's. I'm interested in global health, medical education, and equity within medicine. Outside of medicine, my hobbies include traveling, eating, yoga, running, dancing, and reading.
Why did you choose Emory PEM?
Overall, Emory felt like the best fit for me. It offered a variety of experience between the large academic center and the community ED setting. There are also opportunities for me to further explore med ed, global health, and equity. Most importantly, I wanted to work with and learn from the people I met on my interview day.
What is your favorite thing about living in Atlanta?
First of all, I'm excited to return to the warm weather! Aside from that, I'm a big foodie and can't wait to explore new restaurants in Atlanta.
Medical School: Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University Residency: Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
Tell us about yourself:
I am from the suburbs of Atlanta; I did my undergrad in North Carolina where I developed an interest in advocacy particularly for Spanish-speaking patients and patients who are members of the LGBTQ+ community. I came back to Georgia for medical school, and then completed my pediatrics residency in Philadelphia. I am also interested in quality improvement, especially with regard to the EMR.
Why did you choose Emory PEM?
Being from the Atlanta-area makes the pediatric population a special group for me! I also know that I will get exposure to a wide variety and breadth of patients and complaints. I am also excited to practice PEM in a less-resourced hospital as compared to the larger teaching hospitals.

What is your favorite thing about living in Atlanta?
Medical School: Université Notre Dame d'Haïti Faculté de Médecine Haiti Residency: Maimonides Medical Center
Tell us about yourself:
Growing up in Haiti inspired my passion for pediatrics and for improving healthcare where it’s needed most. I completed my pediatric residency at Maimonides Children’s Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, and my professional interests include global health, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), and advancing emergency care for children in resource-limited settings. Outside the hospital, you’ll find me jogging, playing the piano, relaxing at the beach, or playing soccer. I strive to bring the same energy, curiosity, and teamwork to my patients and colleagues as I do to the things I enjoy outside of medicine.
Why did you choose Emory PEM?
From the moment I interviewed at Emory, I felt a genuine sense of community. The faculty and fellows were incredibly welcoming, supportive, and clearly invested in each other’s success. It was easy to picture myself learning in an environment where people challenge you to grow while also making you feel like part of the team. Combined with Emory’s commitment to academic excellence, diverse clinical experiences, and strong mentorship, I knew it was the ideal place for me to develop as both a Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician and a person.
What is your favorite thing about living in Atlanta?
So far, my favorite part of living in Atlanta has been running on the Beltline. It’s the perfect mix of exercise and stumbling upon a new coffee shop or local favorite along the way. Since I’m still new to the city, I’m fully embracing my “explore everything” phase and am always open to recommendations for hidden gems, great restaurants, or must-see spots.
Medical School: Nova Southeastern University Residency: Nicklaus Children’s Hospital

II was born and raised in the Washington DC area. I did my master’s in biomedical research in the UK before working in science policy consulting for a few years. I moved down to South Florida, where I completed medical school and residency. Outside of work, I love to paint, hike, travel, listen to live music, and explore nature.
Why did you choose Emory PEM?
I chose Emory because of its unique combination of high volume, high acuity, exposure to both a large academic center and a community ED setting, and opportunities to explore my interests in global health, injury prevention, and POCUS. The faculty I interviewed with were wonderful and really want to help every fellow achieve their individual goals.
What is your favorite thing about living in Atlanta?
I love the diversity and the greenery here! There is so much to do for everyone’s interests. I enjoy exploring the parks, restaurants, local coffee shops, and the beltline!
Medical School: University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine Residency: Emory School of Medicine
Tell us about yourself:
I am from South Florida (Go Canes!) and have loved living in Atlanta. I went to medical school at the University of Miami and completed residency at Emory/CHOA. I am so excited to stay on board at Emory for fellowship! When I’m not in the ED, I love to run, read, play pickleball, and peruse bookstores.
Why did you choose Emory PEM?
I chose to stay at Emory PEM to continue the amazing training and family feel that began during residency here. I love the combination of high acuity, fast-paced care at our AMBH tertiary and trauma center with our community hospital at Hughes Spalding, getting to serve the spectrum of the Atlanta community. There is also a wide range of research opportunities and support for research here, as I plan to do research in our behavioral and mental health emergency system.
What is your favorite thing about living in Atlanta?
I love walking from my apartment to different restaurants, coffee shops, bookstores, and workout classes from my spot on the Beltline. There are so many concerts, sports, activities, and events going on every week; it’s hard to get bored! When I need a fix of nature, we drive to the mountains for the beautiful weather and scenery.
