Pediatric Emergency Medicine
Welcome to the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University!
The Emory University Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine comprises a diverse and inclusive faculty and staff, including pediatric emergency medicine and urgent care physicians, advanced practice providers, and the full spectrum of trainees. We run highly competitive fellowship training programs in pediatric emergency medicine, ED ultrasound, and urgent care.
The division staffs two hospitals, Hughes Spalding Hospital at Grady Healthcare and Arthur M. Blank Hospital at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Arthur M. Blank is the only Level 1 pediatric trauma center in Georgia, and Hughes Spalding is the regional pediatric safety-net hospital. Both serve an extremely diverse patient population, with over 120,000 pediatric emergency department patient encounters annually.
We run a robust research program serving as a site for the Pediatric Emergency Care Advanced Research Network (PECARN). Academic areas of interest by some of our faculty include (among many others): global health, injury prevention, quality improvement, pediatric ultrasound, and sickle cell care.
We also have major collaborations and opportunities with Georgia Tech University, Morehouse School of Medicine, CDC, and the Marcus Autism Center.
