Scott D. Boden, MD
Dr. Boden is a SPARC Founder, Vice President of Business Innovation for Emory Healthcare and Chief Medical/Quality officer for Emory University Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital. In September 2018 renowned orthopedic surgeon Scott D. Boden, M.D. was named Chair of the Department of Orthopaedics for Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Boden has served as interim chair since February 2018, and follows former chair James Roberson, M.D. Dr. Boden is a Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Director of the multidisciplinary Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center. He has been at Emory since completing his spine surgery fellowship in 1992, is consistently recognized as one of Atlanta’s Top Doctors, and through his three decades of innovative research on bone regeneration has won the top national and international research awards in spine and orthopaedics.
Robert Bowers, DO, PhD
Dr. Bowers is a sports medicine trained physician with Emory Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. HE is board certified in both physical medicine and rehabilitation as well as sports medicine. Dr. Bowers is a former D1 baseball player with a background in exercise science and a PhD kinesiology from Auburn University), before pursuing his medical degree. Dr. Bowers completed his doctor of osteopathic medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his internship, residency and fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, American Society for Sports Medicine, and American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Bower’s clinical interests are sports-related musculoskeletal injuries, the use of ultrasound for diagnosis, and the use of biologics for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Bowers is specifically focused on baseball medicine and throwing athletes, as well as concussion management. Dr. Bowers will bring his experience and clinical interest to the PEAC, SPORT, and RESTORE programs at SPARC.
Courtney Gleason, MD
Dr. Gleason is a non-operative sports medicine physician at Emory University in the Department of Orthopedics. She holds an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Notre Dame and her medical degree from the University of South Carolina. She completed three years of an orthopedic surgery residency before moving to Atlanta and completing a pediatric residency at Emory. She did a non-operative sports medicine fellowship at Harvard at Boston Children’s Hospital. Before joining the faculty at Emory, she was an attending physician at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island and was one of the team physicians for Brown athletics. At Emory, she is the director for Emory’s Female Athlete Program. She is the head team physician for Agnes Scott College and a team physician for the Atlanta Dream. She also serves as a physician for the Atlanta Ballet. While training in Boston she worked as a company physician for the Boston Ballet and in Providence worked with the dancers from Festival Ballet. She has traveled internationally with US soccer and has served at a crew chief for the Peachtree Road Race for the last three years. She enjoys treating athletes of all ages, sports, and skill level. Special interests include working with dancers and aesthetic athletes and runners. She is particularly interested in bone health, bone stress injuries, overuse injuries, and the concept of relative energy deficiency in sport. She has a special interest in understanding female athlete attrition in sports and working with and for female athletes to optimize performance, minimize injury risk, and keep them active and playing the sports they love. Dr. Gleason will integrate female athlete programs for involvement with PEAC programs at SPARC. She is a member of the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine, the American College of Sports Medicine, the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science, Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine Society, and Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Kyle Hammond, MD
Dr. Hammond is the head team physician for the Atlanta Falcons and head orthopaedic surgeon for the Atlanta Hawks. He also serves as an associate team physician for the Atlanta Braves, Georgia Tech, Emory University, and several metro Atlanta High Schools. Dr. Hammond will support SPARC research activities across the various sports organizations he is partnered with. He has numerous research publications, book chapters, and presentations in the field of sports medicine. Dr. Hammond’s research on the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) won the 1st place award at the Annual Southern Orthopaedic Association and Georgia Orthopaedic Association meetings. From this research, he was able to help develop an ACL surgical technique that is safe to perform in the youth athlete with “open” growth plates. Dr. Hammond has also been awarded the highest recognition from Emory for patient satisfaction scores in each of his years in practice. Dr. Hammond grew up in Johns Creek, GA and graduated from Chattahoochee High School. He completed his orthopaedic surgery training at Emory University, where he was awarded the “Outstanding Resident” award. He then went onto the prestigious University of Pittsburgh Sports Medicine Center, where he served as a team physician for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins, The University of Pittsburgh athletics, Duquesne University athletics, and the Pittsburgh ballet. Dr. Hammond also completed additional training at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, in the field of hip arthroscopy and hamstring surgery with the renowned, Dr. Bryan Kelly.
Destin Hill, MD
Dr. Hill is a Sports Medicine physician that specializes in the care of athletes of all ages. Dr. Hill grew up in Powder Springs, Georgia and graduated from McEachern High School. He attended the University of Georgia and graduated from the Honor’s Program. While at the University of Georgia he played football for one year. Dr. Hill completed his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia. During his third year of medical school, he played Arena League Football for the Augusta Spartans. He subsequently completed his Family Medicine residency at The Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. During his final year at The Mayo Clinic he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Hill completed his Sports Medicine fellowship at the prestigious Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama. During his fellowship year, he served as a team physician for Samford University and a local high school. He also assisted in coverage of the Washington Redskins, Birmingham Barons, Auburn University, University of Alabama, Mercedes Marathon, Alabama Ballet, and Regions Tradition Senior PGA golf tournament. After completing his Sports Medicine fellowship, Dr. Hill moved back to Arizona and became a partner at the Arizona Sports Medicine Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. While there he served as a team physician for the Arizona Cardinals for nine years, the Arizona Diamondbacks for six years and the Phoenix Suns for one year. He served as a team consultant for multiple MLB Spring Training teams and also the Arizona Coyotes. He was the Arizona Medical Director for the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2015, 2017, and 2019 and for the FIFA Copa America Centenario in 2016. He was nominated as a “Phoenix Top Doc” by his peers 4 years in a row from 2017-2020.Dr. Hill was excited to have the opportunity to move back home to Atlanta and joined the Emory Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine team in 2020. He is a team physician for the Atlanta Falcons and will work primarily out of the Flowery Branch clinic connected to the Falcons Training Facility.
Neeru Jayanthi, MD
Dr. Jayanthi leads Emory's Tennis Medicine program, is the Director of Emory Sports Medicine Research and Education, and co-directs Emory’s Youth Sports Medicine program. Dr. Jayanthi has a longstanding collaborative research history with the SPARC team and will be integral to integrate the most relevant clinical research into SPARC programs to advance the safety and benefits of youth sports. He is considered one of the country’s leading experts on youth sports health, injuries, and sports training patterns, as well as an international leader in tennis medicine. He is the immediate Past-President of the International Society for Tennis Medicine and Science (STMS) and a certified USPTA and PTR teaching professional. He has also been a volunteer ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) physician for 20 years, serves as a medical advisor for the WTA (Woman’s Tennis Association) Player Development Panel, and is on the commission for the International Tennis Performance Association (ITPA). He has been selected to the board of directors for the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) twice, and served as a Consultant for the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) Council on Sports Medicine and Fitness, Aspen Institute Sport and Society Program, and Mom’s Team. Dr. Jayanthi has won multiple AMSSM Foundation Research Grants for his collaborative research on early sports specialized training and overuse injury in young athletes. He previously was the medical director of primary care sports medicine at Loyola University Chicago for 12 years where he was voted an Atlanta Magazine “Top Doctor” in the Chicagoland Suburbs prior to being recruited to Emory Healthcare. He has already been a peer-selected “Top Doctor” in Atlanta since 2017. Dr. Jayanthi has been a course director over 30 times and has been an invited speaker over 170 times to local and regional conferences as well as at national academy conferences, international sports medicine, international Olympic committee (IOC) congresses and also at numerous Tennis Medicine, USTA, USPTA, and PTR conferences. He has regularly helped with medical care at the NFL Combines, Chicago Marathon, Division 1 NCAA athletics, and numerous high schools. He is currently a team physician for the Atlanta Braves, Gwinnet Stripers (AAA Braves affiliate), Georgia Tech University, Johns Creek High School, and Pinecrest High School. He has numerous publications, book chapters, and is a reviewer of several sports medicine journals and is an active teaching faculty at Emory University. Dr. Jayanthi, has been featured and/or appeared on >150 media outlets including HBO Real Sports, ESPN, NPR, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post WGN news Sports Radio, WGN-TV news “Medical Watch,”, ABC news, CBS national radio, 11 Alive, Fox news, WGN and CLTV “Living Healthy” TV show, XM radio, and numerous other media outlets for his innovative research findings on junior tennis players and young athletes. Dr. Jayanthi enjoys seeing active patients of all ages and specializes in youth athletes and tennis players. He lives in Johns Creek and sees patients at Emory Johns Creek and Emory Atlanta Hawks sports medicine locations.
Spero Karas, MD
Dr. Karas is an orthopedic surgeon and Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Emory University. Dr. Karas also serves as the Director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship Program. Dr. Karas is an internationally recognized expert in the field including sports medicine, surgery of the shoulder and knee, and arthroscopic surgery. Dr. Karas will be involved in the RESTORE program in SPARC as well as his fellowship director role will align with the initiatives of the iREACH program as well. He has been recognized as one of America’s “Top Orthopaedic Doctors” in Men’s Health Magazine April 2007 and “Top Sports Medicine Specialists for Women” in Women’s Health Magazine. Atlanta Magazine has named him “Atlanta’s Most Trusted Sports Medicine Specialist” for the past three years. Dr. Karas completed his training at Indiana University School of Medicine, internship and residency at Duke University Medical Center, and his Sports Medicine fellowship at Steadman Hawkins Clinic. He currently serves as team physician for the Atlanta Falcons, Georgia Tech Baseball and Lakeside High School, as well as a consulting team physician for Emory University and Georgia Tech athletics, and a physician team member for the Atlanta Braves. He cares for patients and athletes of all levels: professional, collegiate, scholastic, and recreational.
Lee Kneer, MD
Dr. Kneer is a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician with fellowship training in sports medicine. Dr. Kneer served as president of his graduating class at the Indiana University School of Medicine before completing residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Utah, where he served as chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Emory University before staying on as an Assistant Professor in the departments of orthopaedics and physical medicine and rehabilitation. Dr. Kneer currently serves as the head team physician for Dunwoody High School and North Springs Charter High School. He also serves as a team physician for the Atlanta Falcons and has provided international medical coverage for US Soccer. He is engaged in medical student and resident education, and has won multiple Teacher of the Year awards. Dr. Kneer takes pride in promoting the patient experience and has received recognition for ranking in the top 10% in patient satisfaction nationwide every quarter of his career. Dr. Kneer will be instrumental in the RESTORE program at SPARC.
Sameh Labib, MD
Dr. Labib is an orthopedic surgeon with specialized certification in sports medicine surgery. Dr. Labib’s area of focus is in sports injuries of the knee, ankle and foot. His research focus is on improving outcomes for active individuals with cartilage, knee, and ankle problems. With his interest in improving patient outcomes, Dr. Labib will work closely with the iREACH and RESTORE programs in SPARC. Dr. Labib lectures nationally and internationally. Dr. Labib completed his orthopedic fellowship and internship at Royal Victoria Hospital (Canada), residency in orthopedic surgery at Jewish General Hospital (Canada), sports medicine fellowship at University Hospital of London (Canada) and his orthopedic surgery fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute. For the past several years, Dr. Labib has been nominated by his peers as one of “America’s Top Doctors” and “Best Doctors in Atlanta.” He is the head team physician for Oglethorpe University and an orthopedic consultant for the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Hawks, and Georgia Tech.
Joe Lamplot, MD
Dr. Lamplot is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine and will have his clinical operations adjacent to SPARC. Dr. Lamplot brings expertise in sports related surgical outcomes that will be the focus of his research collaboration with the SPARC team. Dr. Lamplot grew up in Chicago where he was a four-sport varsity athlete in high school. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois College of Engineering, graduating with highest honors. He was awarded a scholarship to attend the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and graduated with honors. He then completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Washington University in Saint Louis where he assisted in caring for the St. Louis Blues professional hockey team. Dr. Lamplot went on to complete his fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, consistently ranked #1 in orthopaedics in the United States. There, he served as a team physician for the New York Giants and the New York Red Bulls professional soccer team. His specialized training included arthroscopic (minimally invasive) and complex knee, shoulder, and elbow surgery. Dr. Lamplot has published over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles, delivered over 30 presentations at national and international meetings, and authored eight book chapters. He serves on the Emerging Leaders board of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Additionally, he has received numerous grants to support his clinical and basic science research. He has also received awards (see below) for many of his sports medicine research investigations.
Scott Maughon, MD
Dr. Maughon is a surgeon in the Emory Orthopedics and Sports Medicine department. He attended the University of Georgia on a baseball scholarship where he lettered 4 years as a pitcher. Upon graduation, Dr. Maughon attended the Medical College of Georgia and obtained his medical degree and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. After graduation, he completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia. After residency, he was chosen for a highly regarded sports medicine fellowship with world-renowned sports medicine and orthopedic surgeon, Dr. James R. Andrews. Since returning to Atlanta, Dr. Maughon started The Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Institute of Gwinnett. He started and organized sports medicine coverage for Gwinnett County and North Atlanta high schools and community parks as well as serving as chairman of Gwinnett Medical Center’s sports medicine committee from its inception in 1992 until 2005. Dr. Maughon joins the Emory orthopedic surgery faculty with a special interest in the throwing shoulder and baseball injuries. His professional interests include ACL/MCL/PCL reconstruction, knee arthroscopy, rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability and dislocations, injuries in the aging athlete, meniscal/cartilage repair, ligament injuries, tendon injuries, joint preservation, and joint replacement surgery of the knee and shoulder. He was nominated by his peers and selected by the Emory School of Medicine Recognitions Committee as a doctor who exemplifies the outstanding faculty of the Emory School of Medicine on Doctor’s Day 2016. Dr. Maughon is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM). He is also Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and Board Certified in Sports Medicine. Dr. Maughon currently serves as the doctor for the Tour Championship of the PGA Tour the last four years at East Lake Golf Club and treats PGA players and served as the 2011 PGA golf tournament doctor at Atlanta Athletic Club. Dr. Maughon will be actively involved in the PEAC and SPORT programs at SPARC.
Kenneth Mautner, MD
Dr. Mautner is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. He is board certified in PM&R with a subspecialty certification in Sports Medicine. Dr. Mautner received his medical education at Tulane University School of Medicine, internship at Tulane Medical Center Hospital, residency at Emory University School of Medicine, and his sports medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute. He is the Director of Primary Care Sports Medicine and Fellowship Director for the ACGME accredited Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship. Dr. Mautner is co-editor of the Atlas of Interventional Musculoskeletal Ultrasound as well Musculoskeletal Physical Examination: An Evidence Based Physical Approach. He has been using Musculoskeletal Ultrasound in his practice since 2007 and has been teaching courses around the country since 2009. Dr. Mautner is considered a leader in the field of Orthobiologics treatment for chronic soft tissue and joint disorders including Platelet Rich Plasma and Stem Cell injections. Dr. Mautner is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine, and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Mautner is the head team physician for the Atlanta Hawks, team physician for the Atlanta Braves, Emory University, Agnes Scott College, and Pace Academy, and serves as a consulting physician for Georgia Tech Athletes. Dr. Mautner will lend his clinical expertise to the RESTORE program at SPARC.
Brandon Mines, MD
Dr. Mines is board certified in both family practice and sports medicine. He has focused his clinical interest on sports injuries and conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist/hand, knee, foot and ankle. He is head team physician for the Women's National Basketball Association's (WNBA) Atlanta Dream. He is also a team physician for the NFL's Atlanta Falcons and serves as the primary care sports medicine and concussion specialist for the team. He is also a rotational physician for United States soccer teams and cares for many high school athletes in the local community. Dr. Mines enjoys giving talks and lectures regarding the prevention of sports injuries. In fact, as an active member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the American Society for Sports Medicine, Dr. Mines has attended and presented at various national conferences. Through the years, he has helped all levels of athletes return to the top of their game.
Eziamake Obunadike, MD
Dr. Obunadike is a sports medicine trained physician within the department of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Dr. Obumadike completed her medical education at Duke University School of Medicine, internship and residency at Harvard Medical School, and her fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine. She is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and is a member of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Obunadike will be involved with the iREACH program at SPARC.
Oluseun Olufade, MD
Dr. Olufade is a sports medicine focused physician within the Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Department. Dr. Olufade is board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine and Interventional Pain Medicine. He completed fellowship training in both Interventional Pain Medicine and Sports Medicine. During his fellowship training, he was a team physician for Philadelphia Union, a major league soccer (MLS) team, Widener University Football team and Interboro High School Football team. Dr. Olufade employs a comprehensive approach in the treatment of sports related injuries and spinal disorders by integrating physical therapy, orthotic prescription and minimally invasive procedures. He specializes also in concussion, tendinopathies and platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections. He performs procedures such as fluoroscopic-guided spine injections and ultrasound guided peripheral joint injections. Dr. Olufade individualizes his plan with a focus on functional restoration. He is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and American Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Olufade will contribute to the RESTORE program at SPARC with his unique clinical interests and experience.
Mathew Pombo, MD
Dr. Pombo is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine and is the Director of Emory’s Soccer Medicine Program that will work closely with iREAC program in SPARC. Additionally, Dr. Pombo has specific research interests in injury prevention and will collaborate with the PEAC and RESTORE programs in the Human Performance Labs at SPARC. He is considered one of the leading experts on youth and adult sports injuries, surgery of the shoulder and knee, sports medicine and the aging athlete, and is well known as a national/international leader in the field of soccer medicine. Dr. Pombo is internationally recognized as a FIFA diplomat certifying him as a specialist in soccer medicine and soccer injuries. Dr. Pombo currently serves as a pool physician for the US Soccer Federation. He is the head team physician for several Atlanta area high schools and is a consultant for several soccer clubs in the Atlanta area. Dr. Pombo enjoys taking care of athletes of all ages and keeping them engaged in an active lifestyle. Dr. Pombo has numerous research publications, book chapters, and presentations in the field of sports medicine, shoulder, and knee surgery. Some of Dr. Pombo’s research highlights include describing the anatomic placement of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) and the technique presented in “anatomic double bundle ACL surgery: where are we today”. The publication was awarded as one of the top 20 cited articles in the last 10 years in the Journal of Arthroscopy. Dr. Pombo has also written one of the original articles describing the technique for proximal hamstring repair in the United States. Dr. Pombo has been recognized as one of “Atlanta’s Top Doctors” and his work and opinions have been featured on several major television networks including CBS, ABC, CNN, and ESPN. Dr. Pombo is a native of Atlanta and graduated from Duluth High School and attended Georgia Tech. He graduated from the Medical College of Georgia as one of the youngest members of his medical school class after enrolling early. Dr. Pombo is also one of the youngest members inducted to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honors society. Dr. Pombo completed his orthopaedic surgery training at Wake Forest University, where he was awarded the annual David Pollack Sr. outstanding resident award and the annual top orthopaedic in-training exam award multiple times. Sara Raiser, MD
Dr. Raiser is a sports medicine trained physician with Emory Orthopaedics and Spine Center. Dr. Raiser completed her medical education at the University of Florida, Residency at the University of Virginia Medical Center, and her fellowship at Stanford Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Raiser’s primary interests include treating runners, CrossFit athletes, female athletes, performing biomechanical evaluations and sports ultrasound. Her main goal is to provide a high-level quality of life for her patients. She currently covers athletes at Emory College and South Forsyth, Flowery Branch and Cherokee Bluff High Schools. Dr. Raiser will integrate female athlete programs as well as biomechanical assessment for involvement with PEAC programs at SPARC.
Jeff Webb, MD
Dr. Webb specializes in pediatric sports medicine and is the co-director of the Emory Youth Sports Medicine Program. Dr. Webb’s focus on safe return to sport for athletes is the foundation for his involvement with the PEAC, SPORT, and RESTORE programs at SPARC. Dr. Webb completed his training at the Medical College of Georgia, internship and residency in pediatrics at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, and his Sports Medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute. He has served as a team physician for the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons since 2011 and as a team physician for MLB’s Atlanta Braves since 2017. He is head team physician for Blessed Trinity School and The Galloway School. During his training and practice Dr. Webb has provided medical coverage for Division I college football and other sports, SEC Football Championship Games, national swim meets, multiple high school sports, many different ballets, The Radio City Music Hall Rockettes, WICKED, the musical, Cirque du Soleil, various marathons, international track and field events, and the Special Olympics.
Jeremy Whitley, MD
Dr. Whitley is an assistant professor in the departments of Orthopedics and Emergency Medicine at Emory University. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, and sees active patients of all ages and abilities. After graduating from Emory University School of Medicine, he completed his residency in emergency medicine through Emory University and Grady Memorial Hospital—home to one of the busiest emergency departments in the country, and the premier Level 1 trauma facility in the Southeastern United States. He concluded his training with a sports medicine fellowship at the Emory Sports Medicine Center. Dr. Whitley currently serves as a team physician for Georgia Tech Football and has provided medical coverage for Clark Atlanta University, several local area high schools, and multiple mass participation events. He is an active member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and American College of Emergency Physicians, having attended multiple national conferences and contributed to the sports medicine literature. Dr. Whitley will bring his clinical experience to the iREACH and RESTORE programs at SPARC.
John "X" Xerogeanes, MD
Dr. Xerogeanes is Chief of Emory Sports Medicine and will support all research activities at SPARC. As a member of many respected professional societies and organizations, Dr. X has published numerous research articles, chapters of textbooks and developed surgical techniques. His professional experience as an orthopedic surgeon has won him many accolades and international acknowledgements. Dr. X has been consistently ranked among the top health care providers within Emory Healthcare in “Patient Satisfaction” by Press Ganey patient polling. Along with recreational athletes, his patients range from past Presidents of the United States to Academy Award winning actresses to professional and Olympic athletes. He is one of only two Emory School of Medicine faculty members to be nominated and elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha, a national medical honor society founded in 1902.
