The Emory Department of Neurosurgery uses a multidisciplinary approach to neurosurgical care. This means that each neurosurgeon specializes in a particular condition and/or treatment and then collaborates with other physicians who specialize in different, complementary areas in the neurosciences when caring for patients. Since they are able to focus on a particular type of treatment or condition, they develop an acute understanding of the complexities involved. This allows for patients to be treated by a team of physicians with extensive experience, while receiving the best all-around care possible. • Emory's neuroscience clinics use a multidisciplinary approach, which allows our specialized staff to cake care of all aspects of an illness.  For example, in our brain tumor clinic, patients will see a brain tumor neurosurgeon, radiation oncologist and neuro-oncologist, with care being reviewed and coordinator by all three providers.
• The Emory Department of Neurosurgery not only has modern diagnostic and imaging equipment and new therapeutic options to help all types of stroke victims, but it also has the faculty, organization and experience to be one of the top centers of its kind in the country. 
• Emory has the only Georgia-based neurocritical care unit staffed by fully-trained neuro-intensivists to provide the continuum of care needed for critically ill patients with cerebrovascular disorders.
