We are committed to bringing headache medicine to our communities through education.
Clinical Fellowship Program
Our clinical fellowship program trains the next generation of headache specialists.
The fellowship provides comprehensive training through a structured curriculum that combines clinical experience, didactic education and scholarly activities aligned with UCNS requirements and ACGME Core Competencies. Fellows will complete rotations in an outpatient headache medicine clinic with progressive responsibility for patient management, gaining exposure to acute, chronic, primary and secondary headache presentations. Clinical training includes supervised experience in diagnostic formulation, treatment planning, long-term disease management and procedural skills, including nerve blocks, chemodenervation and other evidence-based interventions.
A key component includes hands-on experience with outpatient infusion (currently available) and inpatient infusion (in development) therapies for acute and refractory headache management. The didactic curriculum features headache conferences, case presentations and journal club. Fellows will have the opportunity to participate in multidisciplinary conferences and departmental grand rounds.
Elective rotations provide exposure to multidisciplinary partners within Emory Healthcare.
Fellows will engage in scholarly activities, including research projects and quality improvement initiatives, with opportunities to present at national conferences.
