Julien was born in Montreal and moved to Jamaica as an infant where he lived for several years. He later moved to England, Canada, and finally settled in Maryland where he attended the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Subsequently, he completed his master’s degree in Biomedical Science and worked at the NIH researching T-cell development. He then attended medical school at the University of Miami. There, Julien completed the 4-year dual-degree MD/MPH program at Miami with a focus on marginalized populations in healthcare. For someone who enjoys several aspects of medicine and neurology, Emory became the obvious choice, as a program with cutting-edge neurology research, supportive faculty, a diverse patient population, vast research opportunities, and a vibrant city environment. In his spare time Julien enjoys traveling, cooking, and exploring Atlanta’s food scene.
