Our program is an Advanced program, with 10 residency positions. All positions will be filled through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) using ERAS, the Electronic Residency Application Service. Registration forms for the NRMP can be obtained on its website.
Emory offers guaranteed internship slots through the Emory Transitional Year (TY) program for interested applicants. A separate interview is not necessary, but you must apply separately for the TY program through ERAS.

Interviews
We encourage applicants to apply early. We begin reviewing applications in September; interviews occur on Fridays in October, November and December. We encourage all invited applicants and their spouses/partners to attend a dinner at the homes of one of our residents, planned on the Thursday evening before the interview day. During the interview, applicants will attend Grand Rounds, meet with residents, interview with 4-5 faculty members and tour our facilities, including the Brain Health Center, Emory University Hospital and Grady Memorial Hospital.
International Medical Graduates
IMG applicants are welcome to apply. We will work in cooperation with the GME office to make legal arrangements for a J-1 visa if an IMG candidate is accepted into our residency training program. A valid ECFMG certificate is required to begin residency training. If an applicant has not yet fulfilled the ECFMG requirements, plans to meet the requirements must be indicated in the NRMP application. Additionally, satisfactory completion of a clinical rotation in the US within the past year is desirable.
Resident Selection Criteria
Our program values diversity. We thoroughly evaluate all applications holistically; we offer interviews to applicants that we feel would contribute to the Emory community. We do not screen applicants based on board scores or grades.
