Chineze was born in Switzerland, and raised in different places including London, Trinidad and Vancouver before settling in Toronto, Canada. She attended undergrad at the University of Guelph, completing her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. Her love for music and interest in its interaction with the brain prompted her to pursue a Masters in Music, Mind, & Brain at Goldsmiths University of London. Her thesis examined the role of music reducing prenatal anxiety and depression. From here, she worked as a clinical research coordinator in Toronto looking at the impact of Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation in improving exercise adherence in cardiac rehab patients. After this, she attended medical school at Stony Brook School of Medicine in Long Island NY.
She chose Emory Neurology Residency for several reasons: the down to earth and intelligent residents, the culture and diversity of the program, and the opportunity to work and train with incredible, supportive faculty. Chineze is passionate about mentorship and diversity in medicine. In her free time she loves to play piano, volleyball, spend time with family and friends and travel every opportunity that she can.
