Eligibility
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents (Green Card holder)
- Pre-doctoral applicants must be enrolled in a PhD program at a participating institution.
- Postdoctoral applicants must have completed a doctoral degree (M.D., Ph.D., D.V.M., PharmD, etc) prior to entering the Program.
Competitive candidates must pursue either basic, translational, or clinical science training with the goal of answering an important biomedical question in the field of nephrology, urology, or hematology that does not involve the study of cancer.
The ATLANTIS Program is committed to meeting the NIH NIDDK goal to increase the participation of women and individuals from ethnic or racial groups underrepresented in research. Applying
Applications must identify the trainee, the trainee’s mentor, and must include the following information. If you meet the eligibility requirements, please click here
- Proposal title
- The applicant’s CV or Biosketch
- The mentor/mentors’ NIH Biosketch
- A 1-page description of the trainee’s proposed project, including its connection to the field(s) of hematology, nephrology and/or urology
- A letter of support from the applicant’s primary mentor, including a statement of the earliest possible appointment date
- A letter of commitment from and signed by the trainee that attests to their intended completion of the 2-year research training program and provides a description of their career goal(s)
- Undergraduate transcripts for predoc candidates. For postdoc candidates, undergraduate and graduate transcripts and documentation of his/her doctoral degree
- Names and contact information of three professional references
- Mentor’s grant support in NIH other support format
