
Rukayat Olajumoke Jimoh is a dedicated biochemist applying molecular biology techniques to address public health issues. She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master's in Biochemistry from the University of Lagos. Her academic and research journey has been marked by a deep commitment to leveraging science for societal impact, particularly in building research capacity and advancing health solutions in low- and middle-income countries.
She is currently a Junior Research Fellow at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR) and a PhD candidate at the Lagos State University, Lagos Nigeria. Rukayat has acquired expertise in bioprocessing, with a strong foundation in bioinformatics and biochemical research. She has contributed to several innovative projects in vaccine development and diagnostic research. Her work focuses on developing peptide subunit vaccines against viral diseases like SARS-CoV-2, HIV, and the Lassa fever virus.

Passionate about mentoring, she guides young scientists and interns at NIMR and is committed to advancing research on HIV/TB co-infection and its impact on drug metabolism.
