Medical Statistics is a career path I had passion for to unravel the mystery between data and health. Wakilat Tijani earned her Bachelor of Science in Statistics from the University of Ibadan, Oyo State. Her zeal to better understand the dynamics between health and statistics motivated her to a voluntary service as a research assistant/Statistician at the foremost research institute in Nigeria; Nigerian Institute of Medical Research. Her sojourn in NIMR motivated her to further her studies in Medical Statistic by enrolling as a Master of Science of Public Health at the University of Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria.
She has over five-year experience in the conduct of research especially in the area of HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, Lassa fever, as well as the current the SARS-COV_2 pandemic. I strongly believe that the EN-RTP program will afford me a veritable platform to express myself and impact positively on issues of public health significance through in-depth biostatistical application in evidence-based research and implementation science.
