Olufemi Samuel Amoo. BSc Biochemistry, MSc Cell Biology and Genetics, PhD Genetics.
Olufemi is the Research Lead, Blood Genetics and Transfusion Research (BGTR), an innovator and award winning vibrant Research Fellow and a Co-founder of Genomic Society of Nigeria, working at the Centre for Human Virology and Genomics, Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, NIMR. He conducts research into public health diseases with special interest in infectious disease and human sexual health. Olufemi’s focus is on digital epidemiology, implementation research, host-pathogen interactions, carcinogen-DNA interactions, use of bioinformatics and computational biology as a tool for early and efficient medical interventions.
As a Research Scientist, Olufemi has atracted grants and participated in both field and laboratory research in infectious disease and digital health of national impact. In the EN-RTP Program, he hope to develop required skill sets such as bioinformatics, advanced molecular techniques, and good understanding of clinical research methodology in order to become an independent investigator in genome wide association study and adverse drug reaction.
