She was a recipient of NIH Fogarty Emory-Nigeria Research Training program (EN-RTP) mentored award for year 2020 (medium term).
The EN-RTP mentorship enhanced my skills in proposal development and application for competitive research grants, preparing me to become an independent researcher. During the 6 months period I developed and submitted a publication “Uche Igbasi, Wellington Oyibo, Jun-Hu Chen, Hong Quan, Omilabu, Sunday, Shen-Bo Chen, Hai-Mo Shen, Xiao-Nong Zhou. 2021. Profile of haplotypes of chloroquine resistant transporter gene and multidrug resistant-1 gene among Plasmodium falciparum isolates from malaria cases in Lagos, Nigeria”. International Journal of Infectious Disease. Manuscript number IJREGI-D-21-00050. (In Press). I submitted proposal for Royal Society for Tropical Medicine and Hygiene Small grants call (not successful) and application for Africa Research Excellence Fund (AREF) 2021/22 Fellowship (awaiting response).
