Dr. Folahanmi T. Akinsolu is a Public Health researcher and a lecturer at the Department of Public Health, Lead City University, Ibadan, Nigeria, an affiliate university to Nigerian Institute of Medical research Lagos. He is also an adjunct Research Fellow at the Clinical Sciences Department, Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, Lagos State. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Public Health with a focus on vulnerability and health in June 2019, from the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, University of Debrecen, Hungary.
His research focus is on Vulnerability and Health, and has made him proficient in evaluating and analyzing the overall health of communities and societies, and has equipped him with appreciable skills in educating the general public on specific health risks and basic healthy living strategies. He is also able to design and develop specific programs to encourage healthier lifestyles and minimize the risks of illness, diseases, and infections. He has a passion for carrying out investigative studies and research on global public health issues. Currently, he is an Emory Nigeria-Research Training Program Trainee, and a receptor of The United Kingdom's Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) African Researchers' Small Grants Program. He is also a reviewer and the secretary of Lead City University Health Research Ethics Committee. He has presented at Global Health National/International Conferences and has eight peer-reviewed publications. His long-term goal is to be equipped with the requisite skills to carry out descriptive and inferential analysis and significance tests on public health data with a focus on epidemiological and clinical researches on NCDs, Adolescent/Women’s Health, Infectious diseases such as HIV/TB.
