Using technology and data for patients’ benefit
“What is unique to the Seavey Clinic is how robust our team is. When you involve multiple minds, you always get a better result.”
Whatever it takes.
That’s the mindset Dr. Jennifer Zreloff brings to her goal of bringing out the individual strengths of the Seavey Clinic team and sourcing the right resources and equipment. She serves as Assistant Director of Innovation and develops workflows to integrate the clinic’s physicians and health professionals.
Patients receive the best care possible in the most efficient manner. For example, Dr. Zreloff sourced a 24-hour blood pressure monitor, which is rarely used outside of cardiology practices. Yet it is ideal for internal medicine. Patients take the device home to get an accurate picture of their blood pressure over time. Their doctor uses the data to help determine whether they need medication.
“I love the problem-solving aspect of medicine,” says Dr. Zreloff, who holds a chemical engineering degree from Georgia Tech. “And I am very into team-based care.”
She instituted an innovative approach to closing gaps in diabetes and cancer care as well as a hypertension initiative that involves a nurse practitioner, pharmacist, and medical students.
Internal medicine taps into her curiosity and drive for knowledge. In medical school, Dr. Zreloff had a hard time choosing a specialty because, in her words, she “loved it all.” She became clear on her direction by asking herself which rotation sent her to the library most frequently. The answer: internal medicine.
Dr. Zreloff is a Rollins Senior Distinguished Clinician. She has received many awards, including Outstanding Physician, as nominated by her peers; and the William T. Branch Jr. MD Award for Excellence in Teaching. She has been recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance through the Diabetes Recognition Program and Patient Centered Medical Home Program.
The Seavey Clinic positions Dr. Zreloff to use her problem-solving skills to greatest effect. She focuses on improving the care of people, the processes of the clinic team, and the latest technology. She always looks for ways to improve the patient experience, no matter what health issues a patient may have.
“Wherever we see a need,” she says, “we meet that need.”
