Allie Manson grew up in Roswell, GA and has lived in Georgia for her entire life. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Genetics and a minor in Human Services from the University of Georgia in 2024. During her time at UGA, she worked as an undergraduate research assistant, volunteered at a mental health clinic supporting musicians struggling with mental health as well as serving as a student ambassador for the Multiple Sulfatase Disease Foundation.
In the summer before her senior year, she worked as the Patient Advocacy intern at REGENXBIO Inc, a biopharmaceutical company specializing in developing gene therapy for pediatric rare disease. While on the patient advocacy team, Allie got to travel to patient and family conferences, develop educational resources for families, and engage with advocacy organizations around the globe. This experience solidified her decision to pursue a career as a genetic counselor.
In her free time, she loves to go on walks with friends, attend UGA football games, travel, and try new restaurants. Allie is very excited to be part of the Emory Genetic Counseling Program. She is more than happy to answer any questions prospective GC students may have.
