Dr. Dalal grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana. He moved to Atlanta to attend Emory University where he majored in Chemistry and Religious Studies and where he met his wife. He then attended LSU’s School of Medicine in New Orleans before completing a Pediatrics residency at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC. He returned to Emory and completed a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care. He is interested in training in hospice and palliative medicine across the spectrum and is excited to join Emory’s Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship as part of the standard track. For fun, he enjoys spending time with his wife and newborn son, studying and practicing meditation in the Insight tradition, being outdoors, and cooking.
Dr. Janelle Williams Holder
Dr. Williams Holder completed her undergraduate studies at Xavier University of Louisiana. She attended the University of Texas, Houston for medical school and residency. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in 2009. She has spent the past 11 years as a general medicine hospitalist. She enjoys crafting, hiking, and traveling. She resides in Atlanta with her husband, two children, and a dog.
Dr. Thanmayi “Tammy” Kaza
Dr. Kaza was born in India and raised in Louisiana. She attended medical school and obtained her MBBS degree from NRI Medical College, in India. She returned to Louisiana to complete her residency in family medicine at LSU Shreveport Health Sciences Center-Alexandria program. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and trying different cuisines, and spending time with her husband and their Schnoodle.
Dr. Denise Lawe
Dr. Lawe was born in Kingston, Jamaica. She and her family moved to Brooklyn, NY when she was nine years old and then to Kissimmee, Florida for her middle and high school years. She considers Kissimmee, Florida her US home. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology from the University of Miami and her MD from the University of Rochester, Rochester, New York. She completed an emergency medicine residency at Temple University in Philadelphia and enjoyed a challenging and rewarding career in that field before deciding to complete a Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship. In her spare time, she loves exploring wherever it is she happens to be, so that can be hiking in the wild or urban walking; reading, or just relaxing with friends or family.
Dr. Robert Palm
Dr. Palm grew up in Pfafftown, North Carolina. He earned a bachelor's degree in Materials Science at Rice University in Houston, Texas, then returned closer to home to attend medical school at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. In the time since, he's been drifting southward again, having completed Family Medicine residency at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System in South Carolina, and now having arrived at Emory for HPM fellowship. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, getting outside, and finding new TV shows to binge.
Dr. Viviana Vidal-Anaya
Dr. Vidal-Anaya was born and raised in Cayey, Puerto Rico. She earned a bachelor of natural sciences from the University of Puerto Rico, Cayey Campus. She attended the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at the same institution. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Dr. David Wilkerson
Dr. Wilkerson was born and raised in Columbia, Missouri. He received a bachelor of arts in anthropology from Brandeis University before heading south for his medical education. He graduated from the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of South Carolina in Greenville. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking for friends, travel, art, yoga, and reading by the pool.
