Overview
Family Medicine physicians are expected to practice in a variety of settings including hospital settings. Whether as a full-time hospitalist or providing continuity of care for patients hospitalized, a family physician must feel comfortable and be able to provide adequate care to their adult patients. Emory Family Medicine Residency Program Hospital Medicine Track aims to provide focused education, training, and exposure to the field of inpatient medicine. Residents who are interested in a career in hospital medicine, academics, or full-spectrum family medicine are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility
- Applications are open to PGY-1 in good standing who will be a PGY-2 level by the program track start date.
- Interested rising PGY-3 are also encouraged to apply
- A maximum of two residents per year will be selected for the residency track starting in July 2024
Track Requirements
- In addition to the core inpatient curriculum requirements, complete two hospital medicine rotations, one at EUHM and one at Emory St. Joseph’s with the Hospital Medicine Service.
- Complete an additional ICU rotation, preferably during the PGY2 year.
- Complete at least two inpatient IM subspecialty rotations such as inpatient cardiology, nephrology, or infectious disease
- Complete and present a quality improvement, scholarly project, or case study focused on hospital medicine at a regional or national meeting. (e.g., Society of Hospital Medicine, Southern Hospital Medicine, Georgia Academy of Family Physicians)
- Journal Club and M&M didactic presentations on hospital medicine topics are encouraged but are not required.
- Mentoring for the presentations and publications will be provided by Dr. Kulshreshtha
