Fahad Alduayji
Fahad is originally from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He studied Chemistry at Emory when he joined our 2019 summer program to work on M2-1 protein. Prior to joining the Liang Lab, Fahad participated in the national qualifications for ICHO (International Chemistry Olympiad).

Amaal Abdi
Amaal is from Suwanee, GA. She was attending Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology (GSMST) when she joined our 2019 summer program to work on sample preparation of the RSV polymerase. Amaal intended to major in Biology and later become a Physician Assistant.

Amirah Clarke
Amirah is from Loganville, GA. She was a junior at Agnes Scott College, majoring in Neuroscience when she joined our 2019 summer program to work on NRNA and M2-1 proteins. Amirah was also the Vice President for Relay for Life, a program partnered with the American Cancer Society.

Ziheng (Billy) Ma
Billy is originally from Changchun, China. He was a rising senior at Cathedral Catholic High School when he joined our 2019 summer program to work on sample preparation of the RSV polymerase. Billy not only joined the Liang lab, later in summer 2019, but he also attended Yale’s summer academic enrichment biological and biomedical science program.

Nicole Morris
Nicole was a senior Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Georgia (UGA) when she joined our 2019 program to work on NRNA and M2-1 proteins. Prior to joining the Liang Lab, Nicole also had experience working with a medical device company, Halyard Health.

Jasmine Berry
Jasmine is from Decatur, GA. She graduated from Agnes Scott College with a B.S. in Neuroscience. During her time at Agnes Scott, she was a writer and secretary for the campus newspaper and a biology tutor for the Biology department. She joined the Liang Lab to work on sample preparation of the RSV polymerase complex.

Callie Dahlke-Baumann
Callie is from the Atlanta-metro area. She was a rising junior from Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST) when she joined the Liang Lab. She was awarded the Academic Excellence in both Engineering and Literature. She returned to the 2020 Program after joining the 2019 Summer Program to work on NRNA and M2-1 protein.

Sarah Franklin
Sarah is from Rome, GA. She studied Biological Engineering at Emory when she participated in our 2019 summer program to work on sample preparation of the RSV polymerase complex. Sarah graduated Cum Laude with her Associate of Science and Technology degree from Armstrong State University in 2018.

Richie Guaman
Richie is from Lilburn, GA. He studied Biomedical Engineering at Emory when he participated in our 2019 summer program to work on the RSV NRNA and M2-1 proteins. Richard also volunteered at Emory University hospital during the summer.

Matthew Kurien
Matthew is originally from Kenosha, WI. He studied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Georgia when he joined our 2019 summer program to work on the RSV NRNA and M2-1 proteins. In high school, Matthew was also a member of the National Science Honor Society.

Erica Lee
Erica was a rising junior from Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST) when she joined the Liang Lab for the 2019 summer program to work on sample preparation of The RSV polymerase. Erica had done a lot of lab work through her chemistry, combined physics/engineering, and AP biology courses.

Aayush Patel
Aayush is originally from Austin, TX. He was a rising junior from Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST) when he joined the Liang Lab to work on NRNA and M2-1 proteins. He also won a first-place ribbon in his school for his experiment on the Next-Generation Sequencing.

Bowen was a rising senior from Chengdu NO.7 High, China, when he participated in our 2019 summer program to work on Cryo-EM data processing. He was elected as the President of SGA. He demonstrated impressive capability to balance his extra-curricular activities and studies.
