Master of Medical Science Program in Anesthesiology
The Emory University Master of Medical Science Program in Anesthesiology is a concentrated graduate medical education program in the Emory University School of Medicine. Leading the way for 50 years, the Program annually accepts qualified individuals who desire to undertake rigorous didactic and clinical education in order to become knowledgeable, skilled certified anesthetists.
The Emory AA Program will be closed for Winter Recess between the Christmas and New Year holidays. Email will not be monitored during this period. NEW CLASS BEGINNING AUGUST 2026
Although December 1st is the official CASAA Application deadline, the program utilizes a rolling admission and reviewing process. The program strongly recommends applying as early as possible as application review and interviews will occur throughout fall and spring or until the class is full. Applications must be competitive, complete, and verified in CASAA to be eligible for review. The Emory University AA Program exclusively accepts the online Centralized Application (CASAA).

Complete, Verified and Competitive CASAA Application
Official college transcripts • Uploaded and evaluated in CASAA
Official GRE and/or MCAT, if English is your second language include TOEFL
GRE Institutional code: 5692
Three academic, professional, or clinical letters of recommendation
Eight hours of OR observation time with an Anesthesiologist, CAA, or CRNA
Emory AA Program supplemental items:
Submit $65.00 non-refundable administrative fee (click to pay)
Upload signed supplemental supporting documents in CASAA (Forms are available in CASAA)
Do not send copies to the program office. Keep a copy for your records
Application Deadline December 1st Apply Early with a complete and competitive application (subject to change)
Please note there are different processes for applicants who would like to be considered for different AA programs. Make sure you are meeting the requirements of all the programs that you plan to apply to.
Educate and train highly competent anesthetists who will practice in the anesthesia care team mode, providing a broad spectrum of anesthesia care to patients with all diseases and severities of illness.
Enhance the overall knowledge and practice of the anesthesia care team by creating practitioners with proficiency in patient monitoring and use of anesthesia equipment.
Provide research opportunities for select students.
Provide continuing education in current practices in anesthesiology.
Instill the highest standards of professionalism and service to patients and the community.
