The Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP) Ambassador Program encompasses learners from K-12 education through graduate and professional school. As part of the HCOP National Academy at Emory, participants must (1) intend to work in Medically Underserved Areas/Populations or Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs), (2) participate in periodic educational research surveys, and (3) attend personal and professional development activities, in exchange for a stipend.
The Emory HCOP Academy is funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and is comprised of National HCOP Ambassadors and Structured programs.
The National HCOP Academy at Emory's Structured programs are the Health Professions Readiness Education Program (HealthPREP) and our partnership with Atlanta Metropolitan State College.
Ambassadors come from diverse populations, including the Emory Pipeline Collaborative (EPiC), Emory School of Medicine’s Health Professions Programs, and Oxford/Emory College.
