I have a college degree. Do I still have to send my official high school transcripts?
Yes. All applicants, regardless of degree status, are required to submit official (sealed) high school transcripts.
I am a non-traditional student. I graduated 10+ years ago. Are official (sealed) high school and/or college transcripts still required?
Yes. We use this quantitative data in our umbrella scoring system to select applicants into the program.
I am a non-traditional (international) student. I am either not able to obtain official (sealed) transcripts from my high school and/or colleges attended, or my official (sealed) documentation does not contain the U.S. equivalency of my courses, grades, GPA, degree granted, etc. What do I need to submit to meet your admissions requirements?
You must contact a Translation Service to have your transcripts from high school and/or college converted into its U.S. equivalent to include, U.S. GPA, classes listed, grades received and type of degree obtained.
We accept official (sealed) documentation from the following translation service companies:

I received my radiologic technology training in the military, but I am not registered. Do you offer advanced placement?
No, you must meet and submit all admissions requirements and if accepted, you must complete the entire 24 month program, just as any other new student.
I am registered as a limited radiologic technologist, am I eligible for advanced placement?
No, you must meet and submit all admissions requirements and if accepted, you must complete the entire 24 month program, just as any other new student.
I am a Radiologic Technologist from a licensure state and did not need to take the ARRT examination in my state (or I have allowed my ARRT Registry Status to lapse). Now that I am relocating to Georgia, do you offer a Registry Review course that I can take to prepare me to sit for the ARRT exam?
No. You must contact ARRT and find out what requirements they have set forth for your individual situation.
I am an international student, does your program offer F-1 immigration status authorization (Student Visa)?
No, our program is not currently authorized by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to enroll international students in F-1 Status.
I won’t complete my degree and/or pre-requisite courses until after the March 1st deadline. Am I still eligible to apply?
Yes, you are still eligible to apply while your degree and/or pre-requisite courses are in progress.
All pre-requisite courses must be completed with a minimum of a ‘C’ grade prior to the SOM RT Program start date. Degree must be awarded prior to the SOM RT Program start date. In order to be eligible, documentation of enrolled pre-requisite courses are required.
How do I know which of my previous college credits transfer?
We do not “transfer” credits to be applied to our program. We do require pre-requisite courses, which would be taken during your undergrad coursework and prior to beginning the SOM Radiologic Technology Program. Since we only offer a certificate in Radiologic Technology and not a degree, we do not give credit for previous coursework. All enrolled Radiologic Technology students must take, and pass, each course in the Radiologic Technology curriculum (students cannot ‘test out’ of any courses or apply previous college credit towards Radiology courses).
Will I earn a degree when I graduate from the program?
No. SOM RT Program is a certificate program and does not award a degree. Upon program completion, you will earn a Certificate of Completion from our JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology Certificate Program.
Since a degree is not awarded upon completion, will I be eligible to take the ARRT exam in Radiography?
Yes. In order to qualify to take the ARRT exam in Radiography, an applicant must have earned an associate's degree or higher and completed an ARRT-approved educational program in Radiography. Because students already earned a degree (which is verified during the admissions process) and successfully completed the SOM RT Program, they are eligible to apply for the ARRT exam.
Why do you only select 24 students each year?
Our total program capacity is determined by JRCERT, which is based on available human and physical resources to ensure educational effectiveness. To meet these standards, we limit our class size to maintain a 1:1 student-to-clinical staff ratio and a 1:1 student-to-radiographic equipment ratio.
Additionally, small class sizes prevent market saturation. Maintaining this careful balance between new graduates and available job openings protects the long-term value of your credential and maximizes your employment opportunities immediately upon graduation.
