Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center

1670 Clairmont Road
Decatur, GA 30033

The Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center is a 173-bed tertiary hospital located approximately 1.5 miles from the main Emory Medical Campus. The facility houses state of the art equipment including paperless medical charting. The Orthopaedic service is comprised of one PGY-4 and one PGY-5 resident, as well as multiple dedicated Orthopaedic PAs who assist in seeing consults and in the clinic. Given the advanced age of the VA population, the operative experience centers around general orthopaedics, degenerative spinal disorders, and total joint arthroplasty. The VA also houses the basic science labs of several attendings, allowing ample opportunities for research. Call is 1:4 and taken in combination with Emory University Hospital Midtown. All call is from home.
