Postdoctoral position, Emory Neuro-Immunology/Autoimmunity
One postdoctoral research fellow position is available immediately under the mentorship of Dr. Eliver Ghosn in the Department of Medicine, Division of Immunology, and Dr. Grace Gombolay in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neurology. The candidate will lead projects to elucidate the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neuroinflammatory autoimmune diseases in children and adults, including antibody-mediated autoimmune encephalitis (AE) and multiple sclerosis (MS). You will work in an NIH-funded laboratory and have access to state-of-the-art technologies for multi-omics single-cell sequencing and Hi-D flow cytometry. The project focuses on the role of B cells, plasma cells, and (auto)antibody responses in neuroinflammatory diseases, using patient samples such as Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) and their matching blood, ex vivo models, and humanized mice. The results from your projects will provide new insights into the immune mechanisms underlying neuroinflammatory disorders, thereby improving diagnosis, treatment, and relapse prediction in these diseases.
Please send your CV, names of three references, and a brief statement on why you are interested in
our work to Dr. Eliver Ghosn and Dr. Grace Gombolay.
Requirements:
1. An MD/PhD or PhD in immunology or related fields, with basic experience in standard laboratory
techniques for immunology and molecular biology.
2. Preference for applicants who are finishing graduate school or have less than 2 years of
postdoctoral experience, but all post-graduate career stages will be considered
