Antimicrobial Resistance and Therapeutic Discovery Training Program
The NIH-funded Antimicrobial Resistance and Therapeutic Discovery Training Program (ARTDTP) provides comprehensive educational and research opportunities to interested PhD students enrolled in programs of the Graduate Division of Biological and Biomedical Sciences (GDBBS). The development of ARTDTP was driven by the global health challenge of antibiotic resistant bacteria and the critical need for new antimicrobials to combat infectious diseases. In addition to working in world-class research laboratories, ARTDTP trainees receive unique opportunities for development such as visiting the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory at Emory University Hospital to learn the latest technologies in pathogen detection and resistance, as well as meeting with scientists from academia, industry and government.
Infectious Diseases Fellowship Training Program
The Emory University Infectious Diseases Fellowship Training Program boasts a dedicated and talented faculty, a vibrant and progressive academic community, multi-disciplinary research opportunities at Emory, close ties with the Rollins School of Public Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other affiliated centers all present in a rich clinical environment and a tradition of excellence in patient care. The development of new ID specialists is a vital part of the program’s mission with a goal to develop careers in clinical care, research, public health, leadership and other endeavors. Four teaching hospitals are utilized in the program, which provide a broad range of infectious disease problems, utilized for the clinical training of our infectious diseases fellows. Research training is also an essential component of the program.
Vaccinology Training Program
The NIH-funded Vaccinology Training Program (VTP) was created in response to an urgent need to train a new generation of researchers in the field of vaccinology, as vaccines have made an unparalleled contribution to preventive medicine. The training objectives and goals include inspiring and attracting outstanding post-doctoral trainees to pursue interdisciplinary training in preparation for a vaccinology research career and providing each trainee with a mentoring team for his or her training and collaborative research project experience.
