The Emory Preventive Medicine Residency and Fellowship Program welcomes inquiries from applicants regarding questions about the program. As you consider this program, please review the diversity of training and learning settings.
Throughout the two years for residents, in addition to MPH course work in epidemiology in Emory’s Rollins School of Public Health, residents’ experiences predominantly are in settings within:
- Emory University
- Atlanta VA Medical Center
- Federal, state, and local public health agencies (e.g., the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Georgia Department of Public Health; and district and county public health units)
- Other organizations within the Atlanta metropolitan area such as Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
Fellows who enter the program with an MPH experience the same diversity of training and learning settings.
How to Apply
For Preventive Medicine Residency/Fellowship training beginning in July 2025, the Emory Preventive Medicine Residency and Fellowship Program will participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Main Residency Match. Please note that we will be matching all positions through the NRMP; applicants who would be considered fellows as well as applicants who would be considered residents will be matched via the Main Residency Match.

We are accepting application materials through ERAS. Please email our Program Coordinator, Mary Davis, by email (at: mary.davis@emory.edu) notifying her that you are applying to this Program through ERAS and attach the application materials listed below in the application checklist.
- Applicants may begin submitting applications through ERAS on September 4, 2024. Please note we use residency ERAS for applicants who would be considered residents as well as applicants who would be considered fellows.
- Please review our application checklist prior to submitting your application. We will only consider complete applications.
- We will not be accepting applications via ERAS after October 31, 2024. If you are interested in the program after that date, please contact our Program Coordinator directly and include your current CV and a brief statement of interest in our Program.
- Decisions to offer interviews are considered only after complete applications have been received and reviewed. At present, we expect all interviews to be virtual. However, there is a possibility of in-person interviews to be determined upon updated guidance from our Office of Graduate Medical Education. Notifications of application status may be made at any time; decisions regarding offers for residency/fellowship positions will be made in accordance with our participation in the NRMP.
